About Doug McDermott
Doug McDermott is an NBA small forward who currently plays for the San Antonio Spurs. McDermott rose to national fame in college, playing four seasons under his father’s coaching at Creighton University. During his freshman season, McDermott averaged 14.9 points while scoring a Missouri Valley Conference freshman record with 581 points. As a sophomore, McDermott would again put up gaudy offensive numbers, averaging 22.9 points per game and receiving the MVC Player of the Year and his first of three straight All American honors. For the next two seasons, McDermott would lead the NCAA in points, earning various awards for his play and earning NCAA Player of the Year in his senior season. Considered to be one of the top offensive prospects in the 2014 NBA Draft, McDermott was originally selected with the 11th overall pick by the Denver Nuggets. Later that night, McDermott was traded to the Chicago Bulls, making his debut with the team in October 2014, scoring 12 points.
