About Dwane Casey
Dwane Casey is a former NBA head coach, most recently with the Detroit Pistons. Prior to arriving in Detroit, he built the Toronto Raptors into a consistent playoff contender. He originally took charge in Toronto in 201 and the team went on to make five postseason appearances in seven years. Prior to that, he was an assistant with the Dallas Mavericks and won an NBA title in 2011. Casey spent a decade with the Seattle Sonics as an assistant coach before getting a shot to be a head coach with the Minnesota Timberwolves. His first head coaching gigs came in the Japanese Basketball League with a pair of teams in the mid-1990s. Casey had been a college assistant at his alma mater, Kentucky, and Western Kentucky. He was a senior captain as a player with the Wildcats and the team captured the 1978 NCAA Championship.
