About Eddie Jones
After a three year career with Temple University, capped with an Atlantic-10 Player of the Year senior season, Eddie Jones was selected 10th overall in the 1994 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. The 6'6" shooting guard/small forward played significant minutes as a rookie, averaging 14.0 points per game and earning a spot on the NBA All-Rookie team. By the 1996 season, Jones solidified himself as the starting shooting guard and made two consecutive All-Star Games in 1997 and 1998. Jones, a mentor to Kobe Bryant during his tenure with the Lakers, was then traded to the Charlotte Hornets during the 1999 season. In 2000 Eddie had the best season of his career statistically, leading the NBA in steals (192), averaging 20.1 points per game and being selected to the third All-Star Game of his career. Jones then went on to play for the Miami Heat in two different stints, helping the Heat to the top seed in the Eastern Conference of the 2004 NBA Playoffs. After a 14 year career, Jones finished averaging 14.8 ppg and is 26th in most career steals in NBA history.
