Edgar Bennett

Edgar Bennett went into Florida State University as a multi-tool player but found his niche as a speedy fullback for the Seminoles’ football team. By the end of his Florida State career, Bennett had amassed 2,300 rushing yards for 20 TDs and added another 1,000 yards as a receiver. Bennett was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 1992 and continued to show his versatility, filling in numerous roles for the Packers offense. Primarily used as a fullback for his first three seasons, Bennett took over the running back role in 1995 due to injuries. He made the most of his opportunity by rushing for 1,067 yards and another 648 yards receiving. Bennett didn’t miss a single game of his career until the ’97 preseason when he tore his Achilles, ending his career as a Packer. He came back to play for two more seasons with the Chicago Bears but was never the same player as he was before the injury. Bennett ended his career in 1999 and in 2001 began working for his former team as a running backs coach.
