About Emma Coburn
Emma Coburn is a pioneering American middle-distance runner. In 2016, Coburn became the first Team USA athlete to ever win a medal at the Olympics in the 3000-meter steeplechase, capturing the bronze. A year later, she became the first American to ever win gold in the steeplechase at the World Championships. Coburn also won a silver medal in the event at Worlds in 2019 and is an eight-time American champion. She originally reached the Olympic stage in 2012 and finished eighth.
