Eric Weddle

Eric Weddle accepted a scholarship to the University of Utah where he made an immediate impact on the Aggies football team as a starting cornerback. Weddle shifted to strong safety his sophomore year and by the end of his career at Utah he was a consensus All-American and was a 2x Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year. In 2007, Weddle was drafted in the second round of the NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers. Weddle began his professional career in 2007 as the dime back in the Chargers’ secondary but worked his way into a starting role in 2008. By 2010, Weddle had helped turn the Chargers’ secondary into one of the top pass defenses in the NFL and in 2011 he led the league with a career-high 7 interceptions to go along with 88 tackles. Weddle made three of his six career Pro Bowl teams while in San Diego. He also earned five All-Pro selections. He went on to make the Pro Bowl in each of his three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens before signing with the Los Angeles Rams in 2019. Weddle played one final season with the Rams before retiring.
