About Eric Winston

Alongside future NFL running back Cedric Benson, Eric Winston helped his high school win three 5A Texas State Championships along with becoming a USA Today All-American. From there, Winston accepted a scholarship to play football at the University of Miami. After playing tight end in high school and as a freshman at Miami, Winston switched to offensive tackle where he began to excel. Originally one of the top tackles in the country, an ACL injury during his junior year raised questions about his future. Regardless, Winston was drafted in the 2006 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. After 9 games is rookie season, Winston got the nod as the starter and held the position until the end of 2011, starting 87 straight games. He went on to play for a season with the Kansas City Chiefs and Arizona Cardinals before finishing his career with the Cincinnati Bengals. After getting heavily involved in the National Football League Players Association throughout his career, Winston was elected President of the NFLPA in 2014.
