About Evonne Goolagong
Evonne Goolagong is a former world number one player who won 14 Grand Slam titles overall. Goolagong won seven Grand Slam singles championships, four at Wimbledon, two Wimbledon and one at the French Open. He won 86 career singles titles and had 704 victories overall. Goolagong made 17 Grand Slam finals in the 1970s, the tops in the decade. When she won her first Grand Slam in 1971 she was named Australian of the Year. She was subsequently honored as a Member of the Order of the British Empire and an Officer of the Order of Australia. She is a member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, the Sport Australia Hall of Fame and the Victorian Honour Roll of Women.
