About Frank Spaziani
Frank Spaziani is a former American football coach and player. Spaziani attended Penn State University where he played linebacker and quarterback from 1965-1968. In 1967 he was a member of the team that won the Gator Bowl and he was a member of the team that went to the 1969 Orange Bowl. Spaziani was also the starting pitcher for the Penn State baseball team. Spaziani coached for Penn State in 1969. From 1975-81, he coached at Navy where he spent his first two years as the tight end/ offensive tackle coach and the remainder of his years as the defensive backs coach. Spaziani then became the defensive backs coach of Virginia in 1982 and in 1985 he became the defensive coordinator while still coaching the defensive backs. Spaziani spent the 1992-93 season as Winnipeg’s defensive coordinator. In 1994-96, he was the defensive coordinator for the Calgary Stampeders. Spaziani coached Boston College in some capacity from 1997-2012. The last four seasons of his tenure, he served as head coach. Spaziani is currently the defensive coordinator at New Mexico State.
