About Freddie Barnes
Freddie Barnes is a professional football wide receiver who has spent time in the NFL as well as in the AFL, most recently appearing with the Saskatchewan Rough Riders of the CFL in 2011. A high school quarterback, Barnes was not highly recruited going into college, eventually signing with Bowling Green University as a wide receiver. In his freshman season, Barnes contributed both as a wide receiver and a running back, tallying over 1,300 total yards and 11 total touchdowns. During his 2009 senior season, Barnes hauled in 138 receptions for 16 touchdowns, leading the league in receiving, but was still undrafted following his graduation. In 2010, Barnes signed as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears, but did not make the team out of training camp, eventually winding up with the Saskatchewan Rough Riders of the CFL for the 2011 season. Barnes would only appear in one game with the Rough Riders, and has failed to latch on with a professional team since his release in 2012.
