About Gordon Beckham
Gordon Beckham is an infielder for the San Francisco Giants. Beckham first experienced a breakthrough while playing for the Georgia Bulldogs. He was a Freshman All-American in 2006 and helped guide UGA to the College World Series. As a junior, Beckham was Southeastern Conference Player of the Year and led Georgia back Omaha. He set a school record and led the NCAA with 26 home runs. Beckham also holds the Bulldogs career record with 53 homers. The Chicago White Sox selected him with the eighth overall pick in the 2008 MLB Draft. He spent the first five seasons of his career in Chicago and was named American League Rookie of the Year by Sporting News and the MLBPA. Beckham also spent time in his career with the Los Angeles Angels and Atlanta Braves before joining the Giants.
