About Greg Anthony
Greg Anthony was one of the leaders for the 1990 UNLV team that won the NCAA National Championship. What made him unique as a leader is that he wasn’t able to do a whole lot of talking. Due to the fact that he played the entire year with a broken jaw he did his leading with his actions, which is something that carried over into his NBA career. In 1991 he joined the Knicks as their first round pick and continued to lead as a tough nosed defender and outside shooter. For the next 12 seasons he brought his leadership to the Grizzlies, SuperSonics, Trail Blazers, Bulls and Bucks before finally completing his journeyman career in 2002.
Unlike his national championship season at UNLV, he has done a lot of talking since his retirement. Immediately after leaving the NBA he joined ESPN as a professional and college basketball analyst, eventually landing a spot as a color commentator on the YES Network in 2012. In 2014 he made his way to CBS Sports to serve in that same role and also contribute as a studio analyst.
