About Greg Louganis
Greg Louganis became an American hero when he brought home gold medals from the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Games in diving. With a background in dance, gymnastics and acrobatics, Louganis became involved with the sport of diving as a child and flourished as a phenom. He competed in his first Olympic Games at age 16 in 1976 and won a Silver Medal for the red, white and blue, quickly became one of the most popular competitors in the sport and setting the stage for his future success. Over the course of his decorated career he won five World Championships and five gold medals at the Pan American Games to go along with his Olympic success. In the 1980’s and 90’s he was one of the most popular athletes in the world and made appearances in several popular movies and television shows along with being a brand sponsor and appearing in ads and commercials.
