About Heath Slocum
Heath Slocum is a professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour. Slocum got his start in golf as a young child, and played on his high school team. Slocum played collegiately at the University of South Alabama, where he earned three All-American honors as well as many other amateur honors. In 1996, Slocum turned professional, competing on the Nationwide Tour. He became the second golfer to ever win the “battlefield promotion” to the PGA Tour due to him winning three events in one season. In 1997, Slocum developed ulcerative colitis, causing him to drop a significant amount of weight and leaving him unable to play for over a year. He returned to the PGA Tour in 2001, and won his first event in 2004 at the Chrysler Classic of Tucson. Slocum has won four events total in his long PGA Tour career, and has a best finish of ninth place at a major championship, which came at the 2008 U.S. Open. Slocum now splits time between the PGA Tour and the Web.com tour.
