About Hunter Wendelstedt
Hunter Wendelstedt is an MLB umpire who has worked within the MLB for 16 years. His father, Harry Wendelstedt, was a long time umpire from 1966 to 1988, inspiring his son to do the same. Originally starting as just a National League umpire, Wendelstedt transitioned to the entire MLB in 2000, a job he currently does today. Over his career, Wendelstedt has worked one All-Star game, four Division Series, one League Championship Series, and one World Series. The 2014 World Series was the first World Series he had worked, a prestigious honor among umpires around the league. Along with his time as an umpire, Wendelstedt also administers his own umpiring school in Florida, and is extremely active in the YMCA community.
