About Jack Harbaugh
Jack Harbaugh was a longtime college football coach and the patriarch of one of the great coaching families in the history of the sport. Harbaugh is best identified for his run as the head coach at Western Kentucky from 1989-2002. He coached the program while it was still in Division I-AA. He led them to the I-AA playoffs on four occasions. In his final season with the Hilltoppers, Harbaugh led them to the I-AA National Championship and was named AFCA Coach of the Year. For five seasons, he also served as a head coach at Western Michigan. Harbaugh's coaching career began at Eaton High School in 1964. He moved up to the college ranks as an assistant at Moorehead State in 1967. Harbaugh would go on to tenures as an assistant coach at Bowling Green, Iowa, Michigan and Stanford before landing the Western Michigan job. Harbaugh's sons, John and Jim, are two of the best head coaches in football today.
