About Jacque Vaughn
Jacque Vaughn fell in love with the sport of basketball over forty years ago. As a former player and current coach, he has a countless number of notable accomplishments under his belt and only continues to add to it. Vaughn was born in Los Angeles, California in 1975 and was not only widely considered to be the best high school basketball player in his area, but also graduated high school with a 3.94 GPA. To no surprise, Vaughn was recruited by many colleges and ultimately chose to attend Kansas State University, where he once again graduated with an impressive 3.72 GPA and a retired jersey number hanging on the Jayhawks wall. Vaughn was selected as the 27th overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz. He scored an impressive 3,463 points throughout his twelve-year career and last played with the San Antonio Spurs from 2006 to 2009. Vaughn returned to the Spurs the following year as an assistant coach. He got his first head coaching job in 2012 with the Orlando Magic. After three seasons in Orlando, he became an assistant with the Brooklyn Nets.
