Jaime Garcia

Jaime Garcia, a Mexican native born in 1986, is currently a pitcher in the MLB for the St. Louis Cardinals. Garcia spent his early childhood years in Mexico but eventually moved to Texas with his family, where he attended high school and excelled in baseball. Garcia was drafted in the 2004 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles but due to unfortunate circumstances, it did not go through. He was then drafted again in 2005 by the St. Louis Cardinals and spent a few years in the minor leagues. Finally, in 2008, Garcia made his professional debut with the Cardinals. Garcia underwent surgery to reconstruct his elbow, known as Tommy John surgery, at the end of his first season and was placed on the disabled list. Coming back stronger than ever, Garcia has since been voted to Baseball America’s All-Rookie team, the Topps All-Star Rookie Pitcher, the National League Player of the Week and has experience a World Series championship with the Cardinals. He is expected to continue excelling in the major leagues in the years to come.
