About James Neal
James Neal is a winger and alternate captain for the Las Vegas Golden Knights. He has had success with several different NHL teams. The Dallas Stars originally selected Neal in the second round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Neal made his Stars debut in 2008. That season, he set a franchise rookie record with 24 goals scored. Neal was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2011 and went on to spend the next three seasons with the team. He was selected to his first All-Star team in 2012 and finished the season with a career-high 81 points. Prior to the 2014-15 season, Neal was traded to the Nashville Predators. He became an All-Star for the second time in 2016 and established a team record with a +27 plus/minus rating. Neal became one of the Golden Knights' first stars when he was selected in the 2017 expansion draft. He scored both goals in the team's inaugural game to lead them to a 2-1 victory over the Dallas Stars. Neal had a strong first season in Las Vegas and was selected to his third All-Star team. Off of NHL ice, he has represented Canada at the 2009 and 2011 World Championships.
