About Jamie Dixon
Jamie Dixon is the head men's basketball coach at his alma mater, Texas Christian University. He garnered respect in college basketball after taking the reigns at the University of Pittsburgh in 2003. In addition to a Big East Tournament Championship in 2008, he has also led his team to two Big East Regular Season Championships in 2004 and 2011. In his first year as head coach in 2003-04, he led the Panthers to a 31-5 overall record and a Sweet Sixteen appearance, earning him Big East Coach of the Year honors. He’d match that mark in 2009 and improve on his team’s previous performance with an appearance in the Elite Eight. With a highly competitive schedule that season his Panthers performed superbly in the pressure due to his leadership and he was recognized with the 2009 Naismith National Coach of the Year award. That same year he was selected to head up the United States under-19 men’s national team and led them to a 2009 FIBA Under 19 World Championship gold medal,
