About Jeff Traylor
Jeff Traylor is the head football coach at the University of Texas-San Antonio. He has a lifetime of experience coaching football in the Lonestar State. Prior to arriving at UTSA, he took his only out of state job, spending two seasons as the associate head coach and running backs coach at Arkansas. In 2017, Traylor was the associate head coach and running backs coach at SMU. For two years prior to his move to Dallas, he was the special teams and tight ends coach at Texas. During his tenure with the Longhorns, he was named Big 12 Recruiter of the Year. Before jumping to the college ranks, Traylor built a resume as one of the best high school coaches in the state. He spent 15 years as the head coach at Gilmer High School, going 175-26 overall and capturing three state championships. He was also named the 4A State Coach of the Year four times. Traylor originally began his coaching career as an assistant at Big Sandy High School and Jacksonville High School.
