About Jerome James
Jerome James played his college basketball at Florida A&M University, and was a two-time All-MEAC performer for the Rattlers. In 1997-98 he established himself as one of the top defensive big men in the country after leading the NCAA with 4.63 blocks per game. At 7’1, 285 pounds he was a highly sought after commodity in the NBA, and was selected in the second round of the 1998 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings. Over the next three seasons he saw time with the Kings and Harlem Globetrotters before heading overseas to play in Montenegro and France from 2000 to 2001. In 2001 he returned to the NBA with the Seattle Supersonics and played four seasons in Seattle before joining the New York Knicks from 2005 to 2009. James returned to basketball in 2012 as a member of the Caciques de Humacao in Puerto Rico, where he averaged 9.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game during the 2012 season.
