About Jess Gysin
Jessica Gysin was born and raised in Santa Cruz, California. As a youngster she became interested in athletics, and eventually blossomed into one of the best volleyball players in the state while playing at St. Francis High School. During her days at St. Francis she led her team to four consecutive CIF State Championships and a High School National Championship in 2002. After earning Junior Olympic AllAmerican honors in four consecutive years from 2000 to 2003 she joined the University of Southern California volleyball team and became one of the best players in their program’s history. Although she missed two years due to injuries, she finished her career with 1,313 kills, 51 service aces, 1,034 digs, 211 blocks and 1,514 points, which ranks second all-time in USC history. In 2008 she earned Volleyball Magazine All-American second team honors and followed that up by earning AVCA All-American honorable mention and All-Pac 10 honors in 2009. Gysin earned her bachelors degree in political science with a minor in communications in 2008.
