Jets Flight Crew

The Jets Flight Crew are the cheerleaders for the New York Jets of the National Football League. The Flight Crew traces its origins back to 2005, when Denise Garvey approached the Jets organization with the idea of creating a cheerleading squad. While the team initially expressed interest, a final decision was postponed for that season. During the 2006 season, the Jets, who traditionally relied on a male flag crew, invited five women to run flags during player introductions, touchdowns, and field goals. The response from fans was overwhelmingly positive, leading to the addition of more women throughout the season.

2007 marked the inaugural season of the New York Jets Flight Crew as an official squad. In 2008, interest surged, with approximately 250 candidates competing in preliminary and semifinal auditions held at Hofstra University. That same year, the Jets organization partnered with designer Marc Ecko to create the Flight Crew’s updated uniforms. Since its inception, the Flight Crew has continued to grow in popularity, with auditions attracting an increasing number of talented performers each year who hope to earn a spot on this dynamic and high-energy team.
