About Jill Ellis
Jill Ellis is one of the most successful coaches in the history of American soccer. Ellis oversaw the U.S. women's national soccer team for five years, winning eight major tournaments and only losing seven matches. She most notably guided Team USA to World Cup victories in 2015 and 2019. While serving as head coach, Ellis was also the development director of the United States Soccer Federation. She was originally appointed head coach on May 16, 2014. Prior to this appointment, she served as interim head coach following the removal of Tom Sermanni on April 6, 2014, having previously held the position upon Pia Sundhage's early departure in October 2012. She has also served as head coach for various university and United States national youth teams over the years. Ellis is currently an ambassador for U.S. Soccer, the team president for the NWSL's San Diego Wave and a popular speaker for corporate groups and other events.
