About Jim Crane
Jim Crane is the owner and chairman of the Houston Astros. He originally bought the team from Drayton McClane in 2011. As part of his purchase, he moved the Astros to the American League. Under Crane's leadership, the franchise has become a winner again. In 2017, they won 101 games and won the first World Series in franchise history. Crane has been based in Houston since 1980. He originally began his career in the insurance business. Crane founded the air freight logistics business, Eagle USA Airfreight, in 1984. Over the years, the company diversified and got into the supply chain management and information services industries. Crane went on to found Crane Capital Group. He serves as a majority shareholder of Champion Energy, Crane Worldwide Logistics and Crane Freight & Shipping.
