About Jim Crews
Jim Crews is a former head basketball coach at Saint Louis University, Army and Evansville. Crews stepped in at St. Louis on an interim basis when former Billikens’ coach Rick Majerus got sick. He then took the school to two NCAA Tournaments and a school record 28 wins in the 2012-13 season. Each of those seasons, Saint Louis won the Atlantic 10 and Crews was named A-10 Coach of the Year. The Sporting News also named him National Coach of the Year in 2013. Crews got into coaching under the legendary Bob Knight at Indiana. He was first a player for Knight on the 1976 undefeated Hoosiers squad and then joined his coaching staff for eight years. Crews got his first head coaching job at the University of Evansville in 1985. The Purple Aces went to five NCAA Tournaments in his 17 seasons. Crews also coached at Army for seven years.
