About Jim Paek
Jim Paek made history as the first Korean-born player in the NHL in 1990. Paek subsequently went on to win back-to-back Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1991 and 1992. Pittsburgh originally drafted him in the ninth round of the 1985 NHL Entry Draft. Paek went on to play for the Los Angeles Kings and Ottawa Senators before finishing out his pro career in several different leagues. He then went into coaching, guiding the Orlando Seals and then serving as an assistant with the Grand Rapids Griffins. Paek is currently the director of hockey for the Korea Ice Hockey Association and South Korea's national team coach.
