J.L. Lewis

J. L. Lewis is a former professional golfer. As a child, Lewis played Little League Baseball as a pitcher. Lewis began playing golf at the age of seven and he won the ECC Men’s Club Championship twice before he graduated high school. While in high school, Lewis also played football and basketball. Lewis attended Emporia State University on a golf scholarship, but he transferred to Southwest Texas State University as a sophomore. In 1983, Lewis and his team won the Division II golf championship and he received First Team All American honors. Lewis played for the PGA of America from 1982-1987 and he turned professional in 1984. Lewis also played on the Nationwide Tour and Champions Tour. In his career, Lewis has recorded a total of 5 professional wins. In 1988, Lewis became the assistant golf pro at the Las Vegas Country Club. In 2009, Lewis published a book the, “Pocket Pro” edition of “Golf Tips from the Tour.”
