Johny Hendicks

Johnny Hendricks is a southpaw mixed martial artist that sports a background in wrestling, boxing and kickboxing while competing in the UFC’s Welterweight division. Hendricks’ background in wrestling began at a young age and eventually earned him three Oklahoma high school state championships to go along with two high school national championships. After posting a career high school record of 101-5 he matriculated to Oklahoma State University and became a four-time AllAmerican while capturing back-to-back Big 12 titles in 2005 and 2006 and an NCAA National Championship in 2006 in the 165 pound weight division. During his final year he posted a 56-1 record, won a third Big 12 title and finished as the national runner-up. Seven months out of college he made his MMA debut and won with a third round knockout. He’d go on to fight on the World Extreme Cagefighting circuit from 2007 to 2009 before signing with the UFC. Thus far in his career he has posted an impressive pro record of 16-3 and held the UFC Welterweight Championship title for nine months in 2014. As of 2014 he is ranked as the No. 12 pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC and one of the top MMA fighters in the world.
