About Joseph Barksdale
Joe Barksdale joined the Oakland Raiders in 2011 as a third round pick out of Louisiana State University. Barksdale is a Detroit native, and turned down scholarship offers from several northern schools to head down to Baton Rouge and become the schools first ever Michigan signee. After an All-American prep career at Cass Technical High School he enjoyed monumental success on the Tigers offensive line, helping LSU to one of the top offensive running attacks in the country and earning the right to call himself one of the best offensive tackles in the SEC. Upon signing a professional contract with the Oakland Raiders he impressed the coaching staff in training camp and earned a starting role on the Raiders offensive line. After one season with the Raiders he signed with the St. Louis Rams and continues to impress week in and week out in the National Football League.
