Josh Childress

Josh Childress is originally from Compton, CA and attended Stanford University where he received his B.A. in Sociology. On the basketball court for the Cardinal, Childress was the Pac-10 Player of the Year and a consensus second-team All-American in 2004. He was also named MVP of the Pac-10 Tournament that year before being selected sixth overall in the NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks.

Childress went on to have a successful 15-year professional basketball in the United states and also internationally in Greece, Australia and Japan. In 2010, he led Olympiacos Piraeus to the Greek Cup while being an All-Star and the top scorer in the Green League. Childress was also a member of the All-EuroLeague Second Team. In 2015, he again starred overseas, winning the NBL scoring title in Australia and getting named All-NBL First-Team. He wrapped his hoops career in 2019 while playing in Japan for San-en NeoPhoenix.

Since retirement, Childress has focused in energy on his passions related to investing and philanthropy. Josh started the Landspire Group; a real estate investment and development firm focused on creating an impact in under-resourced communities. Through the Josh Childress Foundation, he created the first-ever summer school scholarship at Stanford University, allowing student-athletes the opportunity to take courses during the summer. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family, reading and watching documentaries.
