About Josh Howard
Josh Howard joined the Dallas Mavericks in 2003 as a first round selection out of Wake Forest University. While playing for the Demon Deacons he earned First Team All-American, ACC Player of the Year and First Team All-ACC honors in 2003 after averaging 19.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game and leading his team to an outright regular season ACC title. Upon joining the Mavericks in 2003 he earned NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors after averaging 8.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. During his first seven seasons with the Mavericks from 2003 to 2010 he became one of the premier scorers in the game, averaging over 18 points and 6 rebounds per game and earning an All-Star selection in 2007. Since 2010 he’s seen time with the Washington Wizards, Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves. For his contributions to the Wake Forest basketball program he was honored by having his legendary No. 5 retired during a pre-game ceremony in 2003.
