About Joshua Clottey
Joshua Clottey grew up with a passion for contact sports, playing football and wrestling as a youngster before becoming interested in boxing alongside his brothers. After a promising amateur career he turned pro and won his first 25 fights, with 14 of those wins coming by knockout. In 2005 he won the WBC Continental Americas Light Middleweight title and captured the IBF InterContinental Welterweight title in 2006. He went on to capture the IBF Welterweight title in 2008 and the WBA Light Middleweight title in 2014. Thus far in his career he has posted an impressive record of 38-4 with 22 wins coming by knockout. His nicknames include The Grand Mater and The Hitter, and he is known for his speed, tenacity, footwork and striking ability in the ring. In the future he looks to defend his WBA Light Middleweight title and is poised to become one of the top boxers in the world.
