Julius Randle Biography

Julius Randle is a forward for the New York Knicks. Randle spent the first four seasons of his career with the Los Angeles Lakers after being selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He averaged a career-high 21.4 points per game after being traded to the New Orleans Pelicans in 2018. Randle played one season at the University of Kentucky in 2013-14 and averaged 15 points and 10.4 rebounds a game in route to earning SEC Rookie of the Year and first team All-SEC honors. He signed with the Wildcats out of Prestonwood Christian High School in Plano, Texas, where he earned McDonald’s All-American honors after averaging an astounding 32.5 points and 22.5 rebounds per game. The 6’9, 250 pounds power forward was selected in the first round with the 7th overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2014 NBA Draft. During the 2014 NBA Summer League he impressed his teammates and earned the respect of his opponents with a 12.5 points per game average. Randle was injured in his professional debut, but is driven to continue the success he enjoyed in high school and college at the NBA level.
