About Kaapo Kakko
Kaapo Kakko is a standout forward for the New York Rangers. The Rangers originally selected him out of Finland with the second overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft. Kakko made his debut for them later that year, becoming the second player born in the 21st century to score a goal in the NHL. He was also instrumental in the Rangers run to the 2022 Eastern Conference Finals, notching five points in 19 games. On the international stage, Kakko has the unique distinction of being the youngest player ever to win the World U18, World Junior and senior-level World Championships. He already has accomplished a great deal in hockey despite being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and celiac disease.
