About Kaitlin Sandeno
Kaitlin Sandeno is a native of Mission Viejo, California and won the US National Championship in the 200-meter butterfly, 200-meter individual medley, and 400- meter individual medley while attending the University of Southern California. In 1999 she put her name on the map by winning gold in the 400-meter freestyle and 800-meter freestyle at the Pan American Games. She went on to win two bronze medals at the 2001 Long Course World Championships in the 200-meter butterfly and 800-meter freestyle and followed that up by winning gold in the 4x200-meter freestyle and bronze in the 400-meter medley at the World Championships in 2005. At the Short Course World Championships she won gold in the 400-meter freestyle, 200-meter butterfly, 400-meter medley and 4x200-meter freestyle in 2004, silver in the 200-meter medley in 2006 and bronze in the 4x200-meter freestyle in 2006. In Olympic competition she won gold in the 4x200-meter freestyle, silver in the 400- meter medley, and bronze in the 400-meter freestyle at the 2004 Athens Olympic games after winning bronze in the 800-meter freestyle at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
