About Kamilla Cardosa
Kamilla Cardoso stands as the dominant 6'7″ center who plays for the Chicago Sky in the WNBA. At age 15 she moved to Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in Tennessee to earn McDonald’s All-America recognition through her 24.1 points and 15.8 rebounds and 9.2 blocks per game performance.
During her first year at Syracuse University she received both ACC Freshman of the Year and co-Defensive Player of the Year awards in 2021. Cardoso moved to South Carolina after her first year to help the Gamecocks achieve an undefeated season and win consecutive NCAA championships in 2022 and 2024. The WBCA Defensive Player of the Year award along with 2024 Final Four Most Outstanding Player recognition went to Cardoso because of her exceptional defensive skills.
The Chicago Sky selected Cardoso as their third overall pick in 2024 and she immediately became vital to their team by scoring 9.8 points while grabbing 7.9 rebounds and blocking 1.4 shots per game which earned her a WNBA All-Rookie Team selection. Her international achievements led to WCBA International Player of the Year recognition during her time playing in China. The developing "Big 3" core in Chicago includes Angel Reese and Hailey Van Lith alongside Cardoso.
Cardoso achieved FIBA AmeriCup MVP status while leading Brazil to gold at the 2023 tournament.
Through her athletic abilities and blocking skills and her energetic social media presence Cardoso has become a rising star who serves as a role model between Brazil and the United States.
