About Karl Vilips
Karl Vilips is a talented young PGA Tour golfer with an Australian Descent. Born in Jakarta and raised in Perth, Vilips starred at Stanford University, where he won the 2024 Pac-12 Championship and earned multiple All-America honors. He turned professional in mid-2024 and quickly made an impact, winning the Utah Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour and being named the tour’s Rookie of the Year. In just his fourth PGA Tour start, Vilips captured his first title at the 2025 Puerto Rico Open, becoming the first player to win on tour wearing Tiger Woods’ Sun Day Red apparel, for which he is a brand ambassador. Nicknamed “Koala Karl,” he is known for his calm demeanor and mature approach, drawing praise from coaches and peers alike. With a powerful game and a growing list of accolades, Vilips is poised to become a leading figure in Australian golf.
