Karrie Webb

Karrie Webb was born in Ayr, Queensland and played on the Australian National Amateur Golf Team from 1992 to 1994. During her first year as a professional golfer in 1994 she placed second at the Women’s Australian Open on the Ladies European Tour. She went on to become the youngest ever winner of the Weetabix Women’s British Open in route to earning European Tour Rookie of the Year honors in 1995. In 1996 she joined the LPGA Tour and won in her second career start at the HealthSouth Inaugural championship. Since that time she has won 41 LPGA Tour events, including seven major championships. Her major championship wins came at the 1999 du Maurier Classic, 2000 and 2001 U.S. Women’s Open, 2001 LPGA Championship, 2002 Women’s British Open, and 2000 and 2006 ANA Inspiration. Webb’s career honors include being named the 1996 LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year, LPGA Tour Player of the Year in 1999 and 2000, GWAA Female Player of the Year in 1999, and the LPGA Vare Trophy winner in 1997, 1999 and 2000. In 2005 she took her rightful place in the World Golf Hall of Fame.
