Katherine Reutter

Katherine Reutter was born in Champaign, Illinois and began speed skating in high school. In 2005 she made her professional debut at the age of 17 and began training at the Olympic Training Center in Marquette, Michigan. One year later she graduated from Centennial High School and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2008 she won a bronze medal in the 3000-meter at the World Short Track Speed Skating Championships, and would go on to with a bronze medal at the 2009 World Short Track Speed Skating Team Championships. The following year she qualified for the United States Olympic Team in the 1000-meter and 1500-meter and would go on to win a silver medal in the 1000-meter and bronze medal in the 3000-meter relay at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic games. Since that time she has helped the US to a second bronze medal at the World Team Championships and has won one gold, two silver, and four bronze medals at the World Championships. As a professional speed skater she is sponsored by such world-renowned brands as Verizon, EyeCare 20/20, Nike, and Oakley.
