About Kelly Olynyk
Kelly Olynyk is a standout big man for the Washington Wizards. Olynyk averaged 8.7 points and 5.2 rebounds as a rookie and was named an All-NBA second-team rookie.He also was selected to the Rising Stars Challenge on NBA All-Star Weekend in each of his first two seasons.The highlight of Olynyk’s 2014-15 season was scoring a career-high 30 points in a 105-87 win against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Dallas Mavericks originally selected him with the 13th overall pick of the 2013 NBA Draft and quickly traded him to the Celtics. After two mostly forgettable seasons at Gonzaga, Olynyk redshirted a year to work on becoming a major star and draft prospect as a junior. He averaged 17.8 points and 7.3 rebounds for the Bulldogs and was a consensus first-team All-American and West Coast Conference Player of the Year. Olynyk is one in a recent trend of talented players from Canada and his father was the head coach of the junior national team for over a decade.
