About Kevin Brown
At the height of his ability, Kevin Brown may have been the best pitcher in baseball. Brown was a six-time All-Star, led the American League in wins in 1992, and won two National League ERA titles. In 1992, he was the first Texas Ranger to win over 20 games in nearly 20 years. Brown would be the first dominant pitcher in Florida Marlins history. His 17-11 record with a 1.89 ERA in 1995 landed him in second place for that year’s Cy Young Award. Brown threw a no-hitter during the 1997 season and the Marlins would go on to win the World Series. Just a year later, he would go 18-7 and help the San Diego Padres reach the Fall Classic. Brown was also baseball’s first $100 million man when he signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1999. He finished his career with the New York Yankees in 2004. The Georgia native currently resides in Macon.
