About Kevin Maas
Kevin Maas was drafted in the 22nd round of the 1986 MLB Draft out of the University of Southern California. While at USC he was one of the top hitters in the country, showcasing power in the middle of the lineup for the Trojans throughout his collegiate career. Over the next four years he proved himself in the Yankees minor league system and earned a call-up in 1990. In 1991 he had a breakout season, belting 21 homeruns in 79 games and finishing second in the American League Rookie of the Year voting. He followed that year up by hitting 23 homeruns in 1992. During his four years in pinstripes he hit 65 homeruns and drove in 169 runs. Since he left the game in 1996 he has been a regular at the Yankees old-timers games and earned a spot at Charles Schwab as a financial consultant, putting the degree he earned at USC to good use.
