About Kevin Sutherland
Kevin Sutherland was a walk-on at Fresno State University but went on to become the most successful golfer in their school’s history. With an unorthodox swing and unusual grip, he became a two-time All-American and won multiple titles. Upon turning pro he joined the PGA Tour in 1992 and has since won the 2002 Accenture Match Play Championship and posted two top tens at major tournaments, with a 9th place finish at the 2001 Open Championship and 9th place finish at the 2007 PGA Championship. Over the course of his career he has been featured in the top 50 of he Official World Golf Rankings multiple times and posted several top rounds including a 59 on the Champions Tour for a -13 round, which is among the best scores in history. His other top major finishes include a 28th place performance at the 2003 U.S. Open and a 33rd place finish at the 2003 Masters Tournament.
