About Kyle Lowry
Kyle Lowry is a point guard for the Philadelphia 76ers, but his legacy with the Toronto Raptors will never be forgotten. Lowry made six straight NBA All-Star teams from 2015-2020. In 2016, he was named to the All-NBA Third Team and helped Team USA to a gold medal in the Olympics. Three seasons later, Lowry was a key reason the Raptors won their first NBA championship.
Before becoming a star in Toronto, Lowry battled his way to the top of the NBA hierarchy. He originally joined the Memphis Grizzlies as a first-round pick in 2006 after a stellar prep career at Cardinal Dougherty High School and collegiate career at Villanova University from 2004 to 2006. During his time at Villanova, he was named to the Big East All-Rookie Team in 2005 and earned Second-Team All-Big East honors in 2006 after averaging 11 points and 4 rebounds a game as a sophomore.
Upon joining the Grizzlies, he signed a pro contract and became a valuable member of the franchise, averaging just over 8 points and 3 rebounds during his first three seasons. In 2008 he joined the Houston Rockets and continued to be a consistent performer off the bench. During his last two years in Houston he came into his own, upping his point average to 13.5 points in 2011 and 14.3 points in 2012.
