About Laila Ali
Laila Ali is a retired professional boxer and she is the daughter of Muhammad Ali. Ali began her boxing career at 18 years old after watching a Christy Martin fight. She announced her decision to box professionally during an interview with Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America. When she told her father that she was planning on boxing professionally, he was not happy, but she reassured him that she would be boxing women. Ali fought in her first fight on October 8, 1999 at 21 years old. She won her second fight by a TKO with three seconds left on the clock. In 2002, the International Boxing Association named Ali Super Middleweight Champion. A few years later, in 2005, the International Women’s Boxing Federation named Ali Super Middleweight Champion. She has also appeared in multiple TV shows such as George Lopez, Real Husbands of Hollywood, and Dancing With the Stars. Ali fought in a total of 24 fights and she won all 24, and 21 were wins by KO.
