Lauryn Williams Biography

Lauryn Williams is one of the most unique athletes in Olympic history. She has competed in both the Summer and Winter Olympics. Williams original passion was track and field. She was a World Junior Champion in the 100 meters in 2002. Williams went on to a great career at the University of Miami and won the NCAA title in that distance in 2004. She would also win a silver medal in the 100m at the 2004 Olympics. Williams was also a four-time medalist in track events at the World Championships. In 2012, she again triumphed on the Olympic stage, winning a gold medal in the 4x100 meter relay. She ran the anchor leg for Team USA during the qualification round. Williams went on to transition to the sport of bobsled. She won a silver medal in two-woman bobsled at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
