About Lenny Moore
Lenny Moore joined the Baltimore Colts as a first round selection in 1956 out of Penn State University. Moore grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania and starred for his home state Nittany Lions before making it big in the NFL. He signed with the Colts in 1956 and earned the UPI NFL Rookie of the Year Award after rushing for 649 yards and 8 touchdowns during his first season in the league. He’d go on to play his entire 11-year NFL career in Baltimore and earn seven Pro Bowl selections, five NFL All-Pro honors, and the NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award in 1964 after rushing for 16 touchdowns. He retired in 1967 with 12,449 all-purpose yards and 113 total touchdowns, and holds the NFL record for the most consecutive games with a touchdown with 18. The Baltimore Colts honored his career by retiring his No. 24 jersey. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest running backs in NFL history, being named to the NFL 1950’s All-Decade Team and 50th Anniversary All-Time Team. In 1975 he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
