Leo Manzano

Leonel Manzano was born in Guanajuato, Mexico and moved to Texas with his family at the age of four. While attending Marble Falls High School he won nine Texas 4A State Championships in track and cross-country in the 800-meter, 1600- meter and 3200-meter. He went on to compete at the Unviersity of Texas, where he won five NCAA National and was named an All-American nine times. He currently holds Longhorn records in the indoor mile, 1500-meter, and indoor and outdoor distance medley relays. After being named the Men’s Track Athlete of the Year by US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association he made the US Olympic Team and competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympic games. In 2012 he returned to Olympic action and won a silver medal in the 1500-meter in London. Thus far in his decorated career he has won two gold medals at the 2012 and 2014 USA Outdoor Championships to go along with five silver medals and two bronze medals from 2006 to 2014.
